During the growing season, the climate is typically warm to
hot at noon, but mitigated by afternoon breezes,
perpetually cool nights, and repeating patterns of morning
and evening fog.
chardonnay clone 4 on AXR1 rootstock growing on a classic
“California T” trellis, the grapes receive only filtered lights
– reaching maturity with green supple berries – retaining
pure fruit characters. The east-west axis provides great
exposure while the 8x12” vine spacing harmonizes with the
well-drained soils, ideal climate and “old school”
viticulture to prompt low yielding vines that engender
elegant and stylish flavorful wines.
