Impressions:

Nose: Tobacco, clove, star jasmine and mushroom
Mouth: Black cherry, toasted oak, vanilla, and dried cranberry notes with balanced acidity create a rich and smooth mouthfeel.

Vineyards:
The wines from five vineyards in our four appellations
create a blend of location, clones and cultural practices
that strike an optimum balance of aroma, flavor and
structure.

Martaella and Hawks Roost vineyards in Russian River
provide the morning and late afternoon fog from the coast
to provide the finesse in its fruit.

Doctor’s Vineyard in Santa Lucia Highlands is a certified
sustainable vineyard with dry and slightly warmer climate
that contributes ripeness and robustness.

Conzelman Vineyard in Anderson Valley is on the
“deep” or West End of the valley floor where the cold
nights and fog formulates the desired acidity. One of the
coolest climates in California separated from the coast be
11 mile stretch of Redwood covered mountains.

Bowland Vineyard in Bennett Valley is a surprising cool
(Region I), given its close proximity to the ultra-warm
Sonoma Mountain AVA. The wild card is the foggy marine
layer that frequently moves through the Petaluma Gap and
later billows over Taylor Mountain like dry ice in a
chemistry experiment. At 770 feet of elevation, the
mountain benches contain speckled loam soils that join
forces with the Pommard clone to produce grapes
translating to powerful wines.

25% blend per appellation. Cooler than normal temperatures in August allowed for a steady, gradual ripening, which has produced wines of heightened complexity, and higher than average natural acidity.
